Josh's Organic Market every Sunday on Hollywood beach is becoming a weekly stop for me... at least when I get Sunday's off. It actually does not have a hemp weaver or hippies selling pies or bread, or any of that other crap that gets in the way of the actual produce... well, it does have the juice bar, but that's off to the side and you don't have to venture there. It gives a nice break from driving around the snowbird-congested roads. By the way, an interesting thing about living here during the early winter months... the skies become full of birds (real birds, not white-haired snowbirds enjoying their retirement)... birds from every northern state (possibly even Canada)... they travel in massive flocks and you just can't help but stare up and be amazed. Ever see a flock of huge pelicans soaring the length of the beach? Very cool.
The really really enjoyable thing about this market is... it's right on the beach. It sits right on the Hollywood Broadwalk which is right on the ocean and white sandy beach and it's even located in one of the coolest (non-condo dominated) retro-neighborhoods in the greater Miami area. Ming and I can get out on Sunday morning, enjoy a walk along the shore, eat lunch at one of the dives there, and get some nice organic fruit and vegetables for home... plus, I can always scout out interesting things to use on each weeks Paradigm dinner.
